Even while angry depression can sell an album, The Distractions perservere, playing up the positive side of life backed with an acoustic undercurrent. There's no small irony in the band's name, writing songs about freezing the moment and finding clarity through a lifetime, yet thier name reflects escapism.

Despite opening for national acts and receiving national attention, The Distractions hold root in Pittsburgh, upholding a rigorus schedule of live performances and recording. With four independent releases, the band has amassed a library of tuneful original music that holds true-to-form with energetic, live performances.

We sound like this, we sound like that...pigeon-holing the band's sound is a difficult task. If a band is easy to label, it's not evolving. The evolution of The Distractions has spanned nearly two decades.
